Automobilista Early 2017 Development Update

Just a few days a go Renato Simioni posted an Automobilista Early 2017 Development Update over on the Reiza forums.

He initially discusses that Automobilista (AMS) will be developed up to version 1.5, this with V1.3.0 on the immediate horizon. Very soon, he says, there will be a detailed overview plus communication on what DLC to expect from the rest of development very soon. We can’t wait for this.

The v1.3.0 update

There are many things in the Automobilista Early 2017 Development Updatem all of which catch the eye. I always like how Reiza always seem to be attending to things with the sim that are efficient to sort out. There seems very little “fat” on how they do things. Such as audio reverb being added by the audio engineer with tweaks to the codebase or one of their track production guys finding time for shader and track surface improvements (Examples below). It’s little tweaks like these that, over time, add up to a great amount and a very rounded and rich product. Then again, everyone loves AMS already! I love dynamic track surfaces, the feeling difference and the graphical difference. It helps make you think you’re a race driver rather than playing a game. It adds depth to the experience.

Boxer Cup

Thanks to famed physics guru, Niels Heusinkveld, has given a few cars some updates for the Automobilista Early 2017 Development Update. Probably the most noteable is the Boxer Cup which has been totally overhauled. Aero, Chassis and helper springs on the suspension which help with stability over curbs. Niels’s input is most welcome as you know the work is top level.

Cheeky additions

The Aussie Racing car Camero is coming, free to the sim as is a 2017 spec open wheeler, pics below.

Adelaide

Adelaide is one of those legendary circuits that every petrol head knows and respects. Such a rich history be it in F1, V8 Supercars or any other formula, this is a wlcome inclusion in to AMS. With its 1988 version and its modern counterpart (With supertruck version) this is sure to please many a league admin and pleasure driver alike. So many combo possibilities.
